Downland near Alciston 4

I felt like using some green again after the past few days of greys and blues. An often painted view from the A27 driving west past Alciston.

October sea

Beautiful sea today. Quite calm but with dramatic breakers. I find that whenever I paint the sea I feel a strong desire to see the film 'Riding Giants', generally thought to be the best surf movie EVER. If you haven't seen it, Video Shack in Eastbourne Old Town have it to rent.

Eastbourne Pier

After a lovely sunny autumn day I was not looking forward to the earlier evening (due to the time readjustment). However the sunset was beautiful and seemed a fitting end to the day. This is looking west towards the pier from the promenade.
