Cuckmere Haven 2

Every time I pass Cuckmere Haven I want to paint the incredible 'meander' snaking towards the sea. I understand the area will be allowed to flood in future. Progress I suppose, and I'm sure the area will be as beautiful in another way.

River view - Arundel

Most of the paintings in this series so far have been in East Sussex. This is one of the first in West Sussex. I don't know Arundel that well but I do like this view of the town and castle (on the right) with boats on the rivers edge. SOLD

Sunday 27th Sept - Lone Tree near East Dean

I've painted this tree a few times over the past few years. Just think of the wind that has made its shape as it's grown over the years.

Sat 26th Sept - Downs near Lewes

The seasons are changing and the gradual shifts in temperature are affecting the countryside. This is a view looking south from the train line out of Lewes heading towards Brighton.

Eastbourne Pier

Since first drawing and painting this pier in the early seventies, it's been the angles that have attracted me. Its also a place to see the incredible phenomenon of the starlings (?) flying in formation.

The old Towner art gallery - Eastbourne

There's just too much to talk about this building. Purchased by a developer 2 years ago it's now falling into disrepair. It's a wonderful building and has such potential for a variety of uses (particularly artistic).
