This is at the side of the building facing the sea. It reminded me of something similar I saw in Miami a few years ago. High contrast and a beautiful mid blue.
You see a lot of cow portraits around these days but I couldn't resist this. The one in the foreground seemed to be saying 'Hi - stay for a chat' but the other was something quite different.
This is about the fourth or fifth boat I've painted in this series along with a couple of other 'firsts' - particularly sheep and flowers. This is Shoreham Harbour - early morning. RESERVED
Another view looking into Carluccios in Jubilee Square. There's something romantic about looking into cafes like this and imagining the hubbub and discussions taking place.
I think I've mentioned before that I've never seen such confrontational sheep as these near East Dean. Mixed weather again today - chilly but bright. Occasional rain.
On July 1st 2009, Sussex artist Julian Sutherland-Beatson began a year long project creating 365 original paintings of the Sussex landscape and seashore. He has been creating a 'daily painting' since April 2008 (see link below) and the project has attracted interest from all media: web, print, radio and TV. Sussex 365 is a continuation of that project.
