30th December - Shoreham Harbour

This is quite a place - Shoreham Harbour. Pleanty of interesting houses and houseboats with great views inland towards Shoreham. This seems to be the easternmost point.

28th Dec - Shoreham Beach

I came here about 30 years ago and forgot what a fascinating place this is. Accessed from Shoreham Beach there is a lake that runs parallel to the sea with houses that back onto it.

Near Horsham

This is looking south towards the downs, just south of Horsham.

Christmas Day!

Merry Christmas to all who have been following my blog over the past year or so. This is a general view looking north just after the golf club at the top of the hill out of Eastbourne on the A259.

Christmas in Rye

The pink house near the church right at the heart of the citadel in Rye. I've always liked this building and I LOVE this part of Rye. As some of you will know I've been coming here since the early sixties and it still feels exactly the same.

Farm near East Dean

This is looking west towards East Dean with the farmhouse near the A29. Passed by 1000 of drivers each day. Snow has settled for a few days up here and just starting to fall again.

Lone tree

This is a tree midway between Eastbourne and East Dean. Bent by the wind over many years.

Brighton shops

Bond Street shopping. Just getting dark and the snow has started to fall again.

More snow

Was SOOO cold today (nice though) This is at the top of Beachy Head Road leading out of Eastbourne from Meads. Pretty bleak.

Winter tree

Snowed a lot today! It's amazing the impact it has on us in a number of ways. This is a tree in Brighton strung with white lights.

Looking East

Bright and sunny today but with the threat (promise?) of snow. This is looking East from the citadel in Rye.

Carluccios - Brighton

Lots of people Christmas shopping today in Brighton. Freezing cold but a warm atmosphere on the streets of North Laine and Jubilee St. This is looking into Carluccios at tea time.

A painting of Worthing Pier in the winter. Not may people about today - very bleak and very cold.

This is looking out from my studio (on the 3rd floor of my house) looking east past Langney towards Hastings in the distance.

Thurs 10th Dec - Worthing Pier

I seem to take this view of piers often: looking up at sea level from the right of the pier.

First snow

A snowy view based on a section of the downs between Lewes and Ditchling. It's been very cold this week and I'm sure snow is just round the corner.

See yesterday's comments about snow. This is my favourite road again under snow.

Brighton Lanes

I have a desire to paint snow scenes at the moment (though it hasn't snowed yet) This is the entrance to the Lanes in Brighton from North St.

Seascape 18 - Eastbourne

A solitary walker enjoying themselves at low tide. A mixed day today - very wet early on followed by sunny periods later.

Sat 5th Dec

This is near Alciston, I was parked in the layby looking due south. Alfriston is beyond the brow of the hill.

Ford railway station

Wednesday 2nd Dec - Waiting for the train back to Hove after our meeting on Monday this week. I love the angles and planes in a composition like this. Almost no colour except for the yellow line.

Ford, near Arundel

Tuesday 1st Dec - Visited Ford yesterday for a meeting about a possible new project. Pretty bleak and windy but a nice train journey from Hove. This is an ecclesiastical building I spied just near the station.
